(MANCHESTER, NH) (July
1, 2019) --- New Hampshire Republican U S Senate candidate Andy Martin will
hold a Manchester news conference Friday, July 5 to announce he is demanding
that primary opponent Donald Bolduc withdraw as a candidate. “General Don Bolduc
is an embarrassment to the Republican Party, and to himself,” Andy charges.
Bolduc launched his
senate campaign by using a video narrated by Scott Trendell, a New Hampshire
stock swindler who is a longtime Bolduc crony. “Trendell swindled his customers
the same way Bolduc is now trying to swindle GOP primary voters,” Andy says.
“What kind of a brain
does it take to announce a campaign using a video narrated by a stock swindler?”
Andy demands. “And after his stupidity and incompetence were exposed, Bolduc
defended swindler Scott Trendell and denigrated the concept of opposition research?
I question Bolduc’s mental capacity to be a candidate. Bolduc isn’t a general barking
orders to his subordinates any longer; he is a candidate in the rough and tumble
world of national politics. He has shown his total arrogance and incompetence
to be a successful candidate against what will be a stressful race against Sen.
Jeanne Shaheen.
“Opposition research is
central to modern politics. New Hampshire Democrats are masters of opposition research;
every two years they mow down Republican candidates like the colonists did to the
Redcoats. For Bolduc to demand that there be no opposition into his military career
and the cronies he associates with now, is a delusional ideation.
“We all honor Bolduc’s
military service. But honoring military service is not a blank check to participate
in national politics. Would Bolduc as a soldier have demanded that his enemies
disarm and refrain from using weapons against him and his troops? Bolduc’s view
is absurd. He’s goofy.
“Bolduc is a Democrat
stalking horse. He is ‘advised’ by Josh McElveen, an unpaid adviser; McElveen’s
‘advice’ is apparently worth exactly what he was paid: zero. What adviser would
let Bolduc step on a political mine on his first day as a candidate? McElveen
worked at a Democratic Party sweatshop, WMUR-TV. So, Bolduc has a nominal ‘Republican’
adviser who was part of a rat’s nest of Fake News Democrats at WMUR. That’s the
best Bolduc can do?
“For over fifty years
I have done ‘opposition research’ all over the world, from Viet-Nam, Cambodia
and Laos to Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere (see www.AndyMartin.com for photos.) Thus, through a stroke of unfortunate serendipity
for him, Bolduc confronts perhaps the most experienced opponent to expose
Bolduc as an unqualified candidate to run for the senate. Moreover, my view of senior
military leaders who run for office is that they have generally been ineffective
candidates. Bolduc is a perfect example.
“Bolduc should
withdraw as a candidate before we release more negative and embarrassing evidence
about his military career. He has a week to pull out,” Andy says.
