(MANCHESTER, NH) (July
3, 2019) --- New Hampshire Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin will
hold a Manchester news conference Thursday, July 4 to recommend that loyal
Americans boycott Nike products.
“There is a rule in
advertising and public relations that ‘all publicity is good publicity,’ but
the rule will not apply in the case of Nike withdrawing flag-themed sneakers at
the behest of Colin Kaepernick,” says Andy. “Nike’s behavior is anti-American
and contemptuous of the American people. If Nike thinks attacking Betsy Ross is
good business, and if Nike thinks Colin Kaepernick is anything more than a
racist provocateur, Nike is dead wrong.
“I have watched as
Kaepernick peddled his anti-white hysteria,” claiming that the National Anthem
was racist and American society is racist. Ours is a far from perfect land, but
ours is the greatest nation on the face of the earth and the one which has done
more than any other to promote and protect African-Americans.
“The idea that
Kaepernick can simply veto a product and order around a billion-dollar
corporation tells me Nike does not want my money, and does not want the money
of loyal Americans. Trying to scandalize Betsy Ross is disgraceful. Disgraceful.
Radical morons such as Kaepernick and his supporters won’t stop until they
destroy America. I am sick of the relentless efforts to demean the American
people and our heritage and history.
“Luckily for us,
there are lots of brands of sneakers and athletic shoes, so it is easy for us
to avoid Nike and patronize shoe manufacturers that are not anti-American. As
for Kaepernick, I support his individual right to protest, and I am very
sympathetic to his claim that African-Americans have not received fair
treatment in our society, but I personally find his strident anti-American and
anti-flag behavior disgraceful and counterproductive to his cause. I agree with
his efforts to protect African-Americans, but I do not agree with his means to
that end. Trashing our flag and attacking Betsy Ross and our first flag as a nation
are only going to polarize people and work against Kaepernick’s broader goals. Kaepernick
is becoming his own worst enemy. African-Americans should condemn Kaepernick
for seeking to trample on our history, using his commercial relationship with
Nike (Kaepernick is a paid spokesman for Nike) to attack Betsy Ross and other
historic Americans. For Nike to dump this muck over the Fourth of July is
evidence of a very sick corporate culture,” Andy charges.
Andy has scheduled a
July 5th news conference to urge his primary opponent Don Bolduc to
withdraw as a candidate because of Bolduc’s ties to a stock market swindler.
