Re: WMUR-TV news fraud and fake news
Dear Mr. Schwartz:
I will be filing a complaint against Hearst Corporation with
the Federal Communications Commission, concerning the corruption and mismanagement
of your TV station license for WMUR-TV in Manchester. (If you send me a fax
number or email address, I will send you a direct copy of my complaint; the
document is in the final drafting process.)
Over the past several years, your news employees have sought
to lie about me on live TV (Adam Sexton), discriminated against me in routine
matters (leaving me off lists of candidate information) and generally sought to
destroy me politically by repeatedly claiming I am not a Republican and implying
I am not a candidate for office when I was. We have an extensive file of
omissions, all of which is sourced to Hearst Television Stations on 57th
Street in New York.
In 2018, John DiStaso used information I generated from
the New Hampshire Attorney General and never credited my action (he had failed
to get the documents on his own). Why are your employees allowed to act in this
unlawful and unprofessional manner?
In addition, your station does not provide journalism, it
provides public relations puffery. Just today, as I was drafting this letter,
John DiStaso who seems to be the ringleader, wrote a story which is imaginary
in that it leaves off the identity of the only experienced candidate, me (see
enclosed excerpt and link at the bottom of this letter) while concealing negative
information about the candidates he is writing about.
Mr. Messner is caught up in an ongoing scandal. Today, an
obscure New Hampshire web site had more credible information about Messner than
your own TV station (see enclosed story and link at the bottom of this letter).
The Messner Foundation fraud is a major national story but has never appeared on
WMUR. Likewise, Messner’s drunk driving conviction has been ignored. Like Joe
Biden, General Bolduc has serious cognitive issues. They arise from his military
service. He has to campaign with a service dog. I seriously doubt that someone
needing a service dog is up to the rigors of a national campaign.
I, on the other hand, have been on the national stage for
decades and am acknowledged as a formidable broadcast performer (see today’s
release and links at the bottom) and constitutional scholar. In 2018, my deal with
the New Hampshire Attorney General knocked out the leading candidate (and led
to the #2 winning the primary; sadly, I was #3).
WMUR creates debates. It does not broadcast third-party
debates. Therefore, the attempt to cancel me violates FCC principles for
broadcast station-sponsored debates.
False polls are also a part of this process. I continue
to investigate the link between the University of New Hampshire pollsters and
WMUR/Union Leader. The companies use the terms “Granite State Poll” and “Granite
State Debates,” indicating the two firms are linked and also control UNH’s
polling activity. UNH uses the same “Granite State” term.
I can’t figure out why your employees want to misinform the
public. President Trump talks about fake news. Your corporate employees are the
epitome of fake news.
The family members who own Hearst Corp. and benefit from
its fraudulent corporate activity, should also be held accountable for the misuse
of public property, the television station license for WMUR-TV.
What DiStaso produces in the way of political coverage is
not journalism; it is not even the “yellow journalism” on which your company
was founded. It is deliberately false and incomplete news intended to rig the
elections in a particular direction.
We can litigate or, if you want to negotiate a resolution,
I am happy to discuss my evidence and legal claims with you personally or your
corporate attorneys. In a few days I will have to file suit, once WMUR starts
promoting fake debates. You need to find out immediately why your station is
only representing two candidates on its web site, and why it is apparently
planning to conduct fake news debates with missing candidates.
In 2018, WMUR started with around 10 Democrats in my
race, and only two Republicans. Belatedly I was added to the WMUR web site and
debate. Reporters wrote that they were “surprised” by the high caliber of my
broadcast performance. I had been a critical part of the most controversial TV
program during the 2008 campaign (please see link below). As someone who has been
a broadcaster for over 50 years, I can see why it became a focal point of the presidential
campaign and landed me on the front page of the New York Times.
WMUR’s public duty is even more critical where the
station holds what amounts to a local TV monopoly.
Why act in this deceptive manner by trying to cancel my
presence in the election? The attempt by Hearst employees to rig the primary
against me will not go unnoticed in New Hampshire and Washington. Be assured I will
not go away. The latest outrages by Mr. DiStaso will not go unnoticed at the national
level because of the highly polarized environment and the crucial role New Hampshire
could play. The same dirty tricks that are directed at me will soon be directed
at President Trump. The fawning coverage of Senator Shaheen will adversely
affect the pro-Trump vote in November and that could be crucial to the outcome.
